“Göcek Herb Food Festival” is held in the spring in Fethiye district of Muğla to promote herb dishes.
Göcek 2nd Herb Food Festival, which will be held in the spring in Fethiye district of Muğla to promote herb dishes, is being held by the Göcek Culture and Tourism Association. Within the scope of the festival, herbs and dishes made from herbs are promoted, while dishes made from local herbs are offered to the guests at the event. The most delicious herb dish is chosen by the members of the jury consisting of the members of the Turkish Cooks Federation, increasing the awareness of the herbs grown in the Fethiye region throughout the country.
Göcek Culture and Tourism Association said that they organize the festival in the last week of March every year. The primary goal of the festival is to introduce both herbs and dishes, starting with the grass-picking activity on the first day of the festival, and the second day being devoted to the making of herb dishes.
While it is stated that local games will take place in the event as well as local herb dishes, let us remind you that herbs have an important place in the kitchen of the district due to the abundance of grass varieties in Fethiye. The festival, which is organized in Göcek Neighborhood with the aim of promoting the dishes, some of which are on the verge of being forgotten, transferring them to future generations and contributing to gastronomy tourism, makes a significant contribution to Göcek’s food culture tourism.
